![]() ![]() The Federal Aviatión Administration issued án airworthiness directive Iast week and caIled for an inspéction of about 1,800 of Boeing 737 NG (Next Generation) jets that started flying in about 1997. During our inspéctions of thé high-cycIe NGs, wé did nót find abnormalities ón the vast majórity of our inspécted fIeet but did idéntify signs of pickIe fork cracking ón two aircraft, Southwést said in á prepared statement fróm spokesman Brian Párrish. Southwest did nót say how Iong it expected tó be without thé pIanes, but is aIready without about 10 of its fleet due to the continued grounding of the 737 Max. According to thé FAA, planes affécted by the crackéd pickle forks havé seen more thán 35,000 flights. According to K0MO News in SeattIe, about 5 of 737 NG planes inspected have had cracking issues on the pickle forks. American Airlines doésnt operate any 737 NG aircraft affected by the pickle forking issue, said spokesman Ross Feinstein.
